How can REMOT improve patients’/athletes’ quality of life through high-quality data
accuracy?

IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopedic Manipulative Physical Therapists) constitutes the Scientific Technical Association of the WCPT (World Confederation of Physical Therapists) representing the WHO organ in the rehabilitation area. IFOMPT has the task of indicating to universities the standards for training the best possible experts in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise considering the needs of patients to solve musculoskeletal disorders that afflict patients “by moving again, without fear and limitations” (L. Gifford, 2005 during a conference in Sheffield).

IFOMPT indicates in the “Educational Standards” document (https://www.ifompt.org/Educational+Standards.html) that professionals have to make patients autonomous in understanding their disorders with the daily management of the exercises that constitute a fundamental aim to let the patients adhere to the rehabilitation project respecting the indications, and the exercise dosage with active communication with their physical therapist.
The use of technology plays an important role in achieving the goals set by IFOMPT and approved by WCPT and WHO especially considering that the current world population and future generations are and will be increasingly accustomed to using technological tools in general and for own health too.

REMOT fits into this need, allowing the patient, the athlete to put into practice the indications received from the professional who assists him/her, managing to understand on his own how
he/she performed correctly or incorrectly those exercises that aim to improve his/her load capacity improving the quality of his/her life.
REMOT allows the patient, the athlete to send detailed results of the movement realized during exercises by the work program, even daily, and therefore to be instructed, motivated, and guided to the fullest.
REMOT could become the “reinforcement” element of one of the points foreseen by the IFOMPT “Educational Standards Statement” at the request of the WHO.
